Zazzle Supports Red Cross Relief Efforts for Japan's Earthquake and Tsunami Victims

Update regarding the post below about the JapanRelief fundraising effort on Zazzle.com:

In response to questions raised by designers when changes occurred with how the designs were displayed on the site, Zazzle posted the correction below to the invitation to designers to contribute designs:
Before either Elizabeth or Marilyn were put in a postion of being faced with questions from a buyer about whether on not the royalites were donated as stated, both have deleted their donated designs. Other designers are doing the same.

###

Zazzle has created a store, JapanRelief, dedicated to supporting the rescue and relief efforts of the Red Cross in Japan. Zazzle has created its own t-shirt, however, Zazzle's independent designers are also able to contribute their royalties from donated designs to raise funds for the relief effort. Zazzle contributes $10 from the sale of each of its t-shirts. Ten percent of the sale of each of the donated designs, representing the royalty of the designer, goes to Red Cross relief efforts. These designs include t-shirts and hoodies, iPad and iPhone cases, buttons, and bumper stickers. These designs can be found in the "Community Donated" section of the JapanRelief store.

Elizabeth has created a design featuring
the Japanese sun disk, called Hinomaru or Nisshoki by the Japanese. Inside the sun disk, a haiku describes the earthquake.

Rising Sun, Rise Again

Earh Shakes, the water
Crashes. Pain. Loss. Suffering.
Rising Sun, rise again.

This coffee mug is a sample of Elizabeth's design.

Marilyn has created a gentle and chaming t-shirt design in a style reminscent of a cross stitch sampler with the theme of world unity, love, hope, and healing. Currently, it is available only on the t-shirt. Marilyn is determining if she can adjust it for placement on the other products offered in the JapanRelief store.

In addition to the products shown here, we would also like to invite members of the Zazzle community to contribute their own designs in support of Japan. Sellers are encouraged to donate the royalties from these contributed designs to the charity of their choice. Click on "Contribute a design" to get started.

Correction: Unfortunately, our system is not able to donate royalties directly from products contributed to this page. We apologize for any confusion, and we strongly encourage everyone to make donations to their preferred charities in support of Japan.
Originally, the donated designs appeared with JapanRelief listed as the designer. Later, the names of the donating designers appeared on the products, and the products with the designs appeared both in the JapanRelief store and in the stores of the designers. Designers questioned this, and then royalties from sales of donated designs began appearing among the earnings of the designers. That produced more comment and questions. So, finally, Zazzle added the correction above to the invitation to designers to submit designs.
